Renishaw Adds CENTRUM™ Stainless Steel Scale Discs for ATOM DX Encoders

Renishaw has introduced CENTRUM stainless steel self-centring discs for its ATOM DX encoders, adding to the existing RCDM glass scales option. The CENTRUM CSF40 scale discs include mounting features that centre the scale when pushed onto a properly sized shaft, reducing installation time by about 90% and helping maintain accuracy.

The discs are installed by tightening three bolts to specified torque values without requiring extra gauges or setup devices. Users can also choose to mount CENTRUM discs with a mechanical clamp.

Made from stainless steel, the CENTRUM discs are durable and easy to clean. They feature 40 µm pitch incremental graduations and come in various sizes with external diameters starting at 31 mm.

These discs are designed to provide good performance in a compact format while offering design flexibility. When used with the ATOM DX readhead, they create a compact encoder solution.
